Bank-freeze concerns change the route.
They do not prove a safer platform.

A public r/BitcoinIndia question asks which exchange to use after stopping Binance P2P over bank-freeze concerns. Compare a real P2P order with a direct-INR exchange route using the same amount, account name and timestamp.

01 / Compare the complete operation

Start with the bank account, not the headline rate.

Route A: Binance P2P

Binance's India P2P policy requires the payment account name to match the verified account name and says the platform can freeze or disable P2P, transactions or withdrawals for risk and policy reasons. It also says Binance is not a party to the user-to-user payment. A same-name rule is a control, not a guarantee that a bank will accept every transfer.

Before paying, save the merchant, payment method, price, limits, order fee if shown and appeal instructions. Do not pay a third-party account or move the trade outside Binance. Record the final asset received and any later withdrawal separately.

Route B: CoinDCX direct INR

CoinDCX's fee page describes direct INR trading and bank deposits or withdrawals, but it warns that INR-pair fees are updated weekly and that taxes and account-level conditions apply. Use the live fee table and order preview for the account—not an old blog post or a copied percentage.

Record the executable buy or sell quote, trade fee, GST or other displayed deduction, INR withdrawal amount, bank name and arrival timing. This is not a P2P-equivalent route: it replaces a merchant payment with an exchange order and its own verification and risk controls.

02 / A fair decision record

Keep the route evidence separate from the fear.

  1. Confirm eligibility: check current India onboarding, KYC, bank ownership, limits and the asset or INR pair in the signed-in account.
  2. Use one amount: compare the same INR budget or the same asset balance at the same time. A P2P seller premium and an exchange spread are different cost layers.
  3. Match the bank name: save the account name shown by each route. Do not infer protection from a platform label, a merchant badge or an online comment.
  4. Record the exit: for a sale, capture gross INR, trade deductions, any TDS or tax display, withdrawal charge and the amount that reaches the own-name bank account.
  5. Stop on a warning: if the live route, payment method, bank or account status is unavailable, do not fund it. An unfinished quote is not a winner.
